This is a 4hr course that provides the foundation for First Aid in Mental Health. The minimum age for a person attending the course is 14yrs. It is therefore suitable for schools, clubs, colleges etc. Anyone can attend who wishes to be aware of Mental Health issues within their work or group environment and look to become a Mental Health champion.
This course will provide you with information concerning Mental Health at an entry level. The course is an introduction for a person to gain some knowledge about basic Mental Health issues prior to attending the Level 2 course in order to become a qualified First Aider in Mental Health.

What is First Aid for Mental Health?
Identifying Mental Health conditions.
Providing advice and starting a conversation with someone who is experiencing a Mental Health issue.

Support Networks available for them to access.
Following completion of the course assessment paper, a successful learner will be provided with a Level 1 Certificate which is awarded by First Aid Awards via FA4MH and is Ofqual regulated.
Maximum number of learners is 12 per course and the minimum age is 14yrs. Parental / Guardian consent will be required prior to any person starting on the course.
Whilst only 4hrs long we are able to offer the course sessions to be spread over 4 weeks but each session must have a minimum of 2hrs. We are able to provide some flexibility to staff and employers, club members in this matter.
